Bookselling: Barnes & Noble Opens Replacement Store Outside of Cincinnati
Originally expected in November 2021, on January 19 Barnes & Noble will open a new Cincinnati-area store at Deerfield Towne Center in Mason. It takes the place of a store two miles away in Waterstone Center [no irony] that closed last August.

The new lifestyle imprint in the William Morrow Group that HarperCollins said they were creating when they organized the acquired HMH lines last September has been named Harvest. It will “publish books in the food, health, and wellness spaces that will make life just a little bit better for readers,” under vp and editorial director Deb Brody, with senior marketing director Andrea DeWerd and senior publicity director Anwesha Basu. The editorial team includes executive editor Sarah Pelz, senior editor Stephanie Fletcher, and editor Sarah Kwak. People: Desser to Leave Random House
SVP and editor in chief at Random House Robin Desser “has decided to leave…to pursue her dreams,” effective April 1, publisher Andy Ward announced. “This news is bittersweet, but after talking to Robin, I fully appreciate and support her choice.” He notes, “she’ll continue to work with some of her, and our, cherished authors.” Desser moved to Random House in early 2020, after a long tenure at Knopf. Imprints: Boynton Bookworks
Simon & Schuster Children’s has launched Boynton Bookworks, an imprint that will house all of Sandra Boynton’s backlist and frontlist titles. Boynton’s S&S books will move over from the Little Simon list, and the company has acquired her Workman titles. Boynton Bookworks’ first list will publish in Fall 2022 with two new board books, a re-illustrated picture book edition of Hippos Go Berserk!, and much of Boynton’s backlist (additional backlist titles will be re-released in future seasons).
