Imprints: Hardie Grant North America Launches Bright Light

The North America division of Australian publisher Hardie Grant has launched a new children’s imprint called Bright Light. Leading the line are publishing director Marisa Pintado, publisher Chren Byng, and art director Pooja Desai. A release states that they will publish “inclusive stories created by authors and illustrators from a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives.” They aim to publish 15 to 20 titles a year, starting in fall 2023 with eight picture books. Simon & Schuster will publish a biography of Elon Musk by bestselling author Walter Isaacson on September 12. It will be simultaneously published by S&S in the UK, Canada, Australia, and India. S&S vp, editor in chief Priscilla Painton acquired World English, audio, and first serial rights from Amanda Urban at Creative Artists Agency.
