More B&Ns Relocate to Smaller Spaces
There has been a wave of Barnes & Noble store opening news, as the company continues to shift its footprint to generally smaller locations. On the Upper East Side of Manhattan, their much anticipated new 7,000 square-foot store at 1550 3rd Ave on the corner of 87th St. will open on July 19, one block away from the 55,000 sq-ft East 86th St. location that closed three years ago. SAG-AFTRA Members Are Allowed To Work On Audiobooks
Actors union SAG-AFTRA says its members are permitted to continue working on audiobooks, in spite of the Hollywood strike, which went into effect today. The union writes in a document shared with publishers, “Many of our members can and should keep working under various other contracts” with a list of approved projects, including audiobooks. The union is striking against the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers after negotiations collapsed over AI and streaming issues. They join the WGA, which has been on strike since May.
