Crown will publish Rachel Maddow’s PREQUEL: An American Fight Against Fascism on October 17. According to the publisher, the book “charts the rise of a wild American strain of authoritarianism that has been alive on the far-right edge of our politics for the better part of a century.” Gillian Blake takes over editing Maddow from Rachel Klayman, who left the company in March.

Ann Patchett, Sandra Brown, Jimin Han, and Yu Miri publish new novels this week, while new nonfiction includes work from Susan Casey and Lara Love Hardin, and Dashka Slater, Steve Sheinkin, and Rachael Lippincott publish new YA titles in August.
