Webtoon Files for IPO

Webtoon has filed for a proposed initial public offering of its common stock, though the number of shares and the price have not yet been determined. The shares, under the symbol WBTN, will be listed on the Nasdaq Global Select Market. Parent company Naver will retain controlling shares after the IPO. According to a report from Bloomberg earlier in the year, the company could try to raise as much as $500 million in an IPO, hoping for a valuation of between $3 billion and $4 billion. Booktopia CEO, 50 Staffers Depart in Restructuring

In response to declining sales, Australian retailer Booktopia has withdrawn its guidance and announced staff departures, including the resignation of CEO David Nenke. Nenke has been at Booktopia since last year, after leaving Barnes & Noble Education. During his six-month notice period, operational duties will be assumed by chair Peter George, who will become executive chairman. Former ceo Tony Nash, who also sits on the board, will become an executive director and sales director for the next six months.
