On September 29, Simon & Schuster will publish Bob Woodward‘s memoir SECRETS, in which “Woodward lifts the lid on his historic reporting relationships, some spanning several decades,” according to a release. The book includes reflections on his reporting methods and memories of covering top stories, from Watergate to Trump. Jonathan Karp edited the book for Simon & Schuster. Spearman Departs Another Independent Bookstore After Backlash
Former Tattered Cover ceo Kwame Spearman has left his post at new independent store Denver Book Society after backlash over his past comments about immigration. Scholastic Begins $200 Million Share Buyback Program
Scholastic formalized the Dutch auction cash tender offer that they announced with their third quarter earnings. The company plans to buy back up to $200 million in shares of between $36 and $40 per share, acquiring back about 25 percent of shares outstanding. The offer will expire end of day on April 20, unless is it extended or terminated earlier. Stock traded at $37.25 on Friday, the last day of trading before the offer commenced, and has hit $39.10 this morning.
