Trade sales grew 18 percent to $745 million in July, according to StatShot data released by the Association of American Publishers. (The previous high was $705 million, in July 2021.) It’s the second straight record month, following sales of $703 million in June. It stands in contrast to a surprisingly poor report in July 2025, when sales were down 13 percent, reflecting the first indication of fluctuations in orders from Amazon.
