New Books Publishing October 27

October 27, 2026By Katy Hershberger

Sarah J. Maas’s A Court of Splintered Harmony releases this week, as well as new novels by Michael Connelly and filmmaker Jane Schoenbrun. New nonfiction includes work by Christopher Lloyd and William Shatner, plus Wendell Berry’s posthumous essays and Matthew Cole’s explosive expose on Jared Kushner (which was moved up to publish October 25).

Also publishing this week are new books by Chad Harbach and Uzma Jalaluddin, which are excerpted in our Buzz Books 2026: Fall/Winter anthology.

We consult a number of sources in compiling our weekly lists and PM members can see our lists for the coming months on Bookshop. Check out October’s 130 fiction releases, 102 works of nonfiction, and 21 children’s titles, November’s 90 fiction releases, 65 works of nonfiction, and 22 children’s titles, and December’s 51 fiction releases, 20 works of nonfiction, and 12 children’s titles.

But if you want to make sure your key titles are on our radar, now you can use this form to submit brief details as well: publun.ch/submitNotable. Please submit your notable titles at least 3 months prior to pub date and limit your submissions to selected, notable titles each season only; otherwise it’s too much for us to consider.
