Anna Stein will join London-based Aitken Alexander and start a New York office for the agency as of June 1. Gillon Aitken is quoted in the Bookseller: “As our markets grow ever closer, we believe this is an auspicious moment to expand our presence in the US, and we are delighted that Anna is joining us.”
Jacqueline Flynn has joined Joelle Delbourgo Associates as an agent. Formerly executive editor at Amacom Books, she will represent a wide range of nonfiction including business and career, technology, science, psychology, self-help, and parenting. Carrie Cantor is heading up the agency’s new editorial services division, working with agency clients on refining proposals and manuscripts. Jennifer Prost of Jennifer Prost Public Relations is now working in association with Joelle Delbourgo Associates’ clients as publicity consultant.
Abrams has hired Marty McGrath for the new position of executive director of sales, reporting to Mary Wowk. McGrath spent more than 25 years in high-level sales management positions at Bantam Doubleday Dell Publishing Group and Random House, most recently as deputy director of adult sales at Random House.
Random House Films and joint-venture partner Focus Features have signed filmmaker Ole Bornedal has signed to direct and adapt the film version of Dean Koontz’s The Husband.
