Dorchester has promoted Leah Hultenschmidt to editorial director, filling the position vacated held by Alicia Condon. In her ten years with the company, Hultenschmidt has directed the publicity and promotions department, has built and overseen the company’s website and has edited the romance and western genres.

Kensington has promoted Alex Nicolajsen to digital marketing manager. She was the executive assistant to Steven Zacharius.

At William Morrow, Tavia Kowalchuk has been promoted to senior marketing director. Also at Harper, note that the recently-announced Digital support divsion (and digital technology services group) have no effect on Harper Media, their digital publishing group. The only slight adjustment is that Ana Maria Allessi, who continues to report to Michael Morrison, will “have a dotted line reporting” to chief digital officer Charlie Redmayne as well, “working closely with the new HarperCollins Digital team.”

The AAP has announced details on their annual meeting, moving back to Washington this year, at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill on March 3. The keynote speaker will be Secretary of Education Arne Duncan. This year’s meeting runs in coordination with the AAP’s School Division, so Duncan will address both groups. The AAP’s annual meeting agenda is downloadable here.
