Tom Clancy is returning to William Morris Endeavor for representation, where Jennifer Rudolph Walsh and Tracy Fisher will serve as his primary agents. Clancy next novel THREAT VECTOR publishes next month, and Paramount is “rebooting” the Clany movie franchise with “Jack Ryan,” directed by Kenneth Branagh, and starring Chris Pine, Keira Knightley and Kevin Costner, set for a Christmas 2013 release.
Allison Hollett has joined Osprey as US vp, sales and marketing, where she will develop and manage all aspects of the company’s marketing and publicity efforts working out of Osprey’s New York offices. Hollett, previously director of trade sales and marketing for the Taunton Press replaces John Tintera, who will now oversee US sales and marketing for Watkins Publishing.

For what it’s worth, speaking at a Morgan Stanley conference in Barcelona, Pearson cfo Robin Freestone said of their planned merger of Penguin and Random House, “We have entered this thing with the hope that it survives for a very long time.” He added: “There is no doubt, with all the modeling that we have done, that owning 47 percent of Penguin Random House is considerably more valuable than owning 100 percent of Penguin. And we would hope to hold 47 percent for a very long time.” On their option to sell (or force an IPO), “Freestone said the agreement was a sensible protection for a minority shareholder, and not a sign it was already planning to exit the business.”
