It’s almost here, so one more time, our links and resources to help you prepare for BEA (whether you’re going or not):
– Our handy master BEA Schedule provides a comprehensive, day-by-day, hour-by-hour schedule of all the special events and educational sessions — and just a few selected signings– in a single file, which you can even download to your own computer. Share it with colleagues with this easy short link: publun.ch/BEA2013Sched
BEA‘s own version of the schedule is here, and here.
After today, we may dispatch Lunch at a non-lunch time of day, depending on what happens and how quickly we write it up. As ever, news and deals will be posted first at PublishersMarketplace.com round the clock, regardles.
– For nighttime, our annual Party Planner, for PM members only, is also the most comprehensive account of planned celebrations (with 25 listings in all over 4 nights)
– As of this morning, tickets were still available for very timely Publishers Launch BEA conference on Wednesday, May 29 (on scale, consolidation and more). Register at BEA’s site or use our own simple one-page form — or get one of the limited Digital Combo Passes giving you entrance to both PLC and the IDPF conference, through the main BEA registration page. Publishers Launch and IDPF both require separate, paid admission in addition to your regular BEA badge.
– Our free ebook Buzz Books 2013: Fall/Winter is the biggest galley giveaway you’ll see (running about 750 pages in all). It solves the “BEA discovery problem” by packing together substantial excerpts from 40 forthcoming books of note. It includes work from many featured BEA speakers, such as Amy Tan, Jonathan Lethem, Wally Lamb and Elizabeth Gilbert, and many other well-known authors (including Chang-rae Lee, James Franco, Sue Grafton, Valerie Plame, Grame Simsion, Alan Weisman, Dana Goodyear, Cynthia Voigt, James Swanson and Tamora Pierce). Readers everywhere can get the free Buzz Books 2013 from any major ebook platform and share in the excitement over the big new books. Point them to publun.ch/FallBuzz2013.
– Our Buzz Books 2013 intro lists over a hundred fall titles to watch for beyond those excerpted inside the ebook. We’ve broken out the previews of fiction, nonfiction and YA and other children’s books in condensed form at PublishersMarketplace, and today we add commercial fiction.
– For the fair’s own “official” Buzz Books panel titles, we have lists of the adult and YA/middle grade titles waiting for you at Bookateria — along with lists of BEA buzz books from the past 5 years.
