The Jean V. Naggar Literary Agency announced last week at the agency’s 35th anniversary celebration that Jennifer Weltz will succeed Jean Naggar as president of the agency, with Naggar moving to the new position of chair. Naggar noted that her daughter Weltz, who was named partner in 2004 and later vice president, “has been president in all but name these past few years” and that “her incisive intelligence, energy, marketing acumen, love of books, ready humor, and editorial flair have combined to build and lead JVNLA confidently into a future all of us here are reaching to identify.”

Director of Technology for the B&H Publishing Group Aaron Linne is leaving to join Logos Bible Software as director of church products.

At Simon & Schuster, Anne Tate has been promoted to senior publicity manager; Leah Johanson has been promoted to senior publicist; and Erin Reback moves up to publicist.

Annie Stone has been promoted to editor for Harlequin Teen.

Editor Louise Dennys has been named the second annual recipient of Canada’s Ivy Award, honoring “a substantial contribution to Canadian publishing.”

Book Business and Publishing Executive magazines named Sourcebooks as their book publishing innovator of the year.

World Book Night will announce its 2014 selections on October 23, with bookseller and library signups to become host events now underway.
