People, Etc.: Bush On Bush, and More

October 28, 2014By Michael Cader

Crown has announced rollout plans for 41: A PORTRAIT OF MY FATHER by former president George W. Bush . CBS News will broadcast the first interviews, conducted by Bob Schieffer, on Sunday, November 9 — first on “Sunday Morning” and then on “Face the Nation.” The Today show will feature the author on November 10, and the author and his father interview by Jenna Bush Hager on November 11.

Crown has additional broadcast appearances and says, “President Bush will conduct a number of public book signings in the weeks to follow, with details for those events to be announced at a later date.”

In promotions, at Random House Children’s Books: Casey Lloyd is now associate director, publicity; Lydia Finn moves up to senior publicist;  Kathy Dunn has been named publicist-at-large; and Christine Labov has returned to the division, as agent director, Penguin Random House Speakers Bureau for Random House Children’s.

Separately, Eric Nelson has joined Portfolio, Sentinel, and Current as executive editor. He has been an agent at the Susan Rabiner Literary Agency, after working as an editor for more than 15 years, most recently at Wiley. Tara Gilbride has joined Portfolio, Sentinel, and Current as director of publicity and associate director of marketing. She was most recently vp and director of publicity and marketing for Fortier Public Relations, prior to which she spent over 11 years at the Crown Publishing Group.

Jodie Hockensmith has joined Simon & Schuster Children’s as associate director of publicity. Previously she was associate publicity manager at Random House Children’s.

Angelin Borsics has rejoined Clarkson Potter as editor, where she worked from 2005 through 2013, when she left to work as a copywriter at West Elm. She will report to Rica Allannic.
