In the lead up to next week’s tenth annual Winter Institute, the ABA noted that they tabulated 54 new member stores selling new books in 2014: 45 new bookstores, and 9 new branches or satellites of existing members (plus another 5 stores primarily selling used books). Perhaps more significantly, they also charted sales of 28 ABA member businesses to new owners. (The story includes a complete list of new stores and new owners.)
At their dedicated WI mini-site the ABA lists all of the many authors who will appear at next week’s event, and we have already run our seasonal overviews of hundreds of new works of fiction and nonfiction to look for in the season ahead. Our new free ebook samplers, Buzz Books 2015: Spring/Summer and Buzz Books 2015 Young Adult: Spring are your best places to efficiently sample and share some of the many great books on the way. Seven of the authors in the general edition:
Graeme Cameron
Melissa Cistaro
Mary-Beth Hughes
Susanna Kearsley
Sophie McManus
Leslie Parry
Sarai Walker
and another six of the YA (and middle grade) authors featured in Buzz Books are on the WI roster as well:
Michael Buckley
Maria Dahvana Headley
Katie McGarry
Geoff Rodkey
Ted Sanders
Sabaa Tahir
Booksellers will get to pick up rare printed copies of the Buzz Books in the WI galley room (thanks to Lightning Source/Ingram), but anyone can download our free ebooks. You can get the complete “trade versions” of Buzz and Buzz YA directly from our site as EPUB files, or if you prefer, both titles are “read now” downloads at NetGalley — and you can find each one on Edelweiss. Or to get the consumer version on any platform (and share with readers and fans), both Buzz and Buzz YA are featured right now in the iBooks Store, and easy to get on Kindle, Nook, Kobo and Google Play. We’ve already driven thousands of downloads, received over 150 five- and four-star reviews, and help filled pre-order and reading lists all over.
