People, Etc.

June 2, 2015By Sarah Weinman

Amanda O’Connor will join Trident Media Group as an agent on June 15, representing general interest and upmarket non-fiction, literary fiction, spirituality and wellness. She had been an editor at Crown’s discontinued Image Books.

At Simon & Schuster, Emily Graff has been promoted to editor.

Avalon Radys has joined Inkshares as marketing manager. Previously she was editor-in-chief at Umano.

Declan Taintor has joined Picador as senior publicist. He was previously a publicist at powerHouse Books.

Literackie in Poland has appointed Eccles Fisher Associates as its scout, effective immediately.

David Higham Associates has acquired Toby Eady Associates, founded in 1968. “Eady will continue to work independently” in selling English-language rights, the Bookseller reports, with DHA taking over rights sales.

Awards
The Lambda Literary Award winners in several categories were announced at an awards ceremony Monday night, with Rita Mae Brown receiving a lifetime achievement award, presented by Gloria Steinem.

Announcements
Manchester University Press has acquired 58 academic politics, sociology, and international relations titles from Bloomsbury Academic after the publisher decided to cull its list of such topics. Former Bloomsbury senior commissioning editor Caroline Wintersgill will oversee the transition of forthcoming titles already under contract through publication on the MUP imprint.

Sales/Distribution
Correcting yesterday’s short notice, Amerpsand Inc. is simply taking on sales representation in Canada for the University of California Press.
