Karen Thomas will take over as publisher of Cleis Press and Viva Editions, following the resignation of Brenda Knight and other staff last month. Editorial and production offices will move to the Jersey City office of parent firm Start Publishing in July. Thomas was most recently executive editor at Grand Central Publishing and was the founding editor of Dafina Books.
For clarity, Springer Nature has underscored that both Palgrave Macmillan academic imprint and the Palgrave higher ed line continue unchanged. As reported earlier this week, it’s the Palgrave trade imprint that was incorporated into St. Martin’s in 2014 that is retiring the Palgrave name.
