As Harper UK absorbs Harlequin UK as an operating division, Harlequin managing director Tim Cooper will leave the company after 12 years. Lisa Milton will take over as executive publisher of Harlequin UK on November 2, reporting to ceo Charlie Redmayne. (Milton was moved aside from her position as managing director at Orion this summer as part of a broader realignment of executives there in preparation for David Young’s retirement at the end of the year.)
Laura Tisdel is returning to Viking, as an executive editor, starting on October 5, after four years at Reagan Arthur Books and Little Brown.
At Knopf & Pantheon, Josie Kals has been promoted to associate director of publicity. In addition, Maggie Southard moves up to associate publicist, while both Jordan Rodman and Katie Schroder have been promoted to associate publicist forKnopf.
At Bloomsbury Children’s, Lizzy Mason has been promoted to director of publicity.
Sue Berger Ramin has rejoined David R. Godine as associate publisher. Previously she was director of business development for Bibliomotion, and before that worked at Godine for nine years in editorial, marketing and rights. In addition, Tildy Banker-Johnson has joined the company as sales manager, focusing on children’s books. She previously worked at Eight Cousins Bookstore in Falmouth, MA.
Author of The Evolution of a Corporate Idealist: When Girl Meets Oil Christine Bader joined Amazon last month as director of social responsibility.
The Zoe Pagnamenta Agency will manage and oversee the sale of UK/Commonwealth rights for Kneerim & Williams, both selling direct and in some cases collaborating with UK subagents. Danny Baror continues to represent Kneerim & Williams’ translation rights.
Also in the UK, United Agents has acquired Alex Fane‘s Fane Management, representing jazz and classical music artists. Fane will join UA and run a new UA Music division.
Barbara Tolley & Associates has been named US scout for Black, Inc. in Australia.
