Launch Kids, Masterclasses, and More Added for Digital Book World

December 8, 2015By Michael Cader

We’re starting to add more details on the full programming line-up for the next big Digital Book World, running March 7 – 9. For the first day, before the main DBW conference begins, Launch Kids — the country’s biggest event for children’s publishing — returns. Covering both the consumer and education markets, Launch Kids looks at the latest generation of ideas and content, from the best strategies in book marketing to what’s happening in the physical — and digital — library market, to the trends driving editorial decisions. The program is still in formation, but as usual includes everything from original data on children and digital media to case-study lessons in digital marketing, start-ups, selling adult authors into the children’s market, and more.

A brand-new day one option alongside Launch Kids — offered as part of the value-packed Total Access Pass — is a series of four in-depth Mostly Marketing Masterclasses, plus the return of the DBW workshops.

Also, recently added to the main DBW keynote roster are author and journalist Virginia Heffernan, who will look at how the Internet and digital technologies have changed our fundamental relationship with content; and antitrust attorney Jonathan Kanter, explaining the current antitrust actions pending against big tech companies. They join John Ingram, Mary Ann Naples, seo expert Rand Fishkin, Data Guy, and academic analysts Scott Galloway and Jon Taplin. While the ebook market itself has leveled off for now, digital continues to drive a complete transformation of publishing’s functions, structures and processes — which is the focus of this year’s conference and key speakers.

Early pricing is still available through December 15. As always, Publishers Lunch readers can save even more: Use this link to get the best available discount on individual tickets, just for Publishers Lunch readers, on top of the early pricing. Pick the the Total Access Pass for the best three-day value, or register separately for Launch Kids or DBW as suits your needs.
