At Simon & Schuster, Bob Bender has been promoted to vp, executive editor. In addition, Jofie Ferrari-Adler and Ben Loehnen also move up to executive editor.
Brendan Curry has been appointed to the newly created role of vp, trade sales and marketing at Norton. Curry, who has been with Norton since 2001, most recently as senior editor, will oversee the “smooth integration and synthesis” of trade sales, marketing, and publicity.
Ian Delaney will join Chronicle Books as indie trade sales coordinator on April 6. Previously, Ian was the sales and marketing manager at McSweeney’s.
At Booklist, Keir Graff has been promoted to executive editor, publications.
Awards
Eric Simonoff at William Morris Endeavor will receive the Center for Fiction’s Maxwell E. Perkins Award for Distinguished Achievement in the Field of Fiction, to be presented at their December 6 benefit dinner.
Marilynne Robinson has won this year’s Library of Congress Prize for American Fiction, a lifetime achievement award. It will be presented at the National Book Festival in September.
