Dorling Kindersley cfo Stephen Twilliger will move to Rodale on August 8 as their evp and cfo, reporting to ceo Maria Rodale. In the announcement Rodale notes a planned expansion in children’s books: “His deep experience in book publishing and children’s publishing, a key launch area for us in 2017; strong leadership and communication skills, proven track record and passion for the work we do at Rodale make him an ideal candidate.”

Senior Advisor at Providence Equity Brian Napack is joining an expanding board of directors at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, bringing the board up to eight members. Chairman Larry Fish says in the announcement, “With a robust career in the education and media industries, Brian will contribute valuable perspective to the oversight and direction of HMH’s business.”

CEO Linda Zecher adds, “Brian’s previous experience navigating changing industry landscapes will help provide insight into HMH’s own transformation.

Regan Arts announced a number of recent promotions and new hires. Both Mia Abrahams and Emily Greenwald have been promoted to assistant editor. Kathryn Santora joins as publicity manager; previously she was a senior publicist at Atria. Finally, Breanne Sommer joins as publicist. She was previously a publicity at Artisan.

Lauren LePera has joined Insight Editions as senior production editor. Previously she worked as production editor at Bridgepoint Education. In addition, Charr Treadway has been named contracts administrator.

Maria Campbell Associates has been appointed US scout for the Tuttle Mori Agency in Japan, effective as of July 1.

Penguin Random House has renewed its global sales and distribution partnership with Quirk Books in a multi-year extension.

Author of Future Shock Alvin Toffler, 87, died June 27 in Los Angeles.
