At Holt Children’s, Rachel Murray has been promoted to assistant editor, as has Jessica Anderson at Christy Ottaviano Books imprint, Claire Dorsett at Roaring Brook Press also moves up to assistant editor, and Christine Barcellona was promoted to editor at Square Fish Paperbacks.
In new hires at Scholastic’s trade division, Lauren Donovan joins the unit as director of publicity on January 23 (she was previously assistant director at Penguin Children’s); and Isa Caban is associate marketing manager (she was at Simon & Schuster Children’s). Julia Sabbagh has joined as creative director, and Genus Tsui is associate director of product planning (both were at Studio Fun).
Kelly Van Sant has joined D4EO Literary Agency as an agent, representing middle grade, young adult, and women’s fiction across all genres. Most recently she was head of the contract department at Quarto.
Heidi Hess Saxton has rejoined Ave Maria Press as an acquisitions editor, acquiring and editing approximately six books a year.

Iris Bohnet‘s What Works: Gender Equality by Design (Belknap Press) was given 800-CEO-READ’s Business Book of the Year Award, called “perhaps the most comprehensive roadmap ever written to making equality in the workplace a reality.”
The bookseller also named Hollis Heimbouch as the recipient of their Jack Covert Award for Contribution to the Business Book Industry. General manager Sally Haldorson said, “Hollis is a bellwether of the ever-evolving genre of business books.”
