Acquisitions
Independent Publishers Group has acquired academic book distributor International Specialized Book Services, and will merge ISBS’s list of over sixty publishers with IPG’s academic and professional publishing distribution program. Paul Murphy, vp, managing director of IPG’s academic and professional publishing program, and ISBS ceo Jeff C. Charbonneau will oversee the merger.

The Book Table in Oak Park, IL is launching an Indiegogo campaign to add 50 percent more space to their store. Owners Jason Smith and Rachel Weaver plan to expand into the space next door, which was the site of their original store before a move in 2008. They said in the release, “We’re hoping to raise $50,000 of the expansion expenses through this campaign, to be used in combination with other funding sources.”
