David Kopp, vp, executive editor of Convergent Books, will retire on May 1. Kopp began his book publishing career in 1994 at Multnomah Publishers, moving with it to Random House in 2006, and helped to launch Convergent in 2014. Gary Jansen has been promoted to executive editor at Convergent Books, and will continue to act as director of Image.
Hanna Lee has been promoted to senior manager, digital marketing at Random House Children’s.
At Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Lori Glazer has been promoted to svp, executive director of publicity.
Gabbie Piraino has been named foreign rights manager at DeFiore and Company.
Carina Mathern will join Harper Germany as executive editor for children’s books/YA on August 1, heading an expanded children’s program that will add middle grade and picture books to their existing young adult list. Mather has been editorial director at Friedrich Oetinger.

Baker & Taylor Publisher Services announced that as of June 1, they will represent ECW Press (worldwide, excluding Canada, the UK/Ireland, and Western Europe); Nomad Press and MVP Kids (worldwide sales and distribution, excluding Canada).

Scribd notes in a press release that Veronica Roth’s THE FATES DIVIDED, published Tuesday, is also available for borrowing in both ebook and digital audio editions through their service. Harper senior director, digital business development Adam Silverman says in that release, “We’re confident that Scribd’s subscription model is an excellent retail platform on which to launch new titles and generate buzz for a huge release such as The Fates Divide.”
