Forthcoming
Knopf will publish Bret Easton Ellis‘ first nonfiction title on April 16 (and Picador will publish in the UK in May). The book of essays, WHITE, “combines commentary and personal reflection in a wide-ranging exploration of our reputation economy” and his own life and work. He “looks back on a transgressive literary career that has earned him both devoted readers and harsh detractors” and offers “forthright views about the world today, informed by the fame and notoriety he has wrestled with for more than three decades.” Or, as his UK editor puts it, “No subject is off limits: his teen crush on Richard Gere, the truth about Patrick Bateman, why ‘Moonlight’ shouldn’t have won the Oscar, that Twitter storm about Kathryn Bigelow – it’s all here.”
