In the UK, Ebury will focus on nonfiction, and publishing director Gillian Green will leave in spring 2020 as a result after 12 years there. The UK version of the Del Rey imprint will move from Ebury to Cornerstone, said to be “part of a global PRH growth plan for science fiction and fantasy publishing.

James Patterson is giving 500 holiday bonuses of $500 each to booksellers, including 100 children’s booksellers. “I’ve said this many times before, but I can’t say it enough: booksellers save lives,” Patterson said in a statement. “Children’s booksellers especially — they guide children to books they’ll genuinely enjoy and in turn create a new generation of readers. I’m happy to be able to acknowledge them and the important work they do in any way that I can this holiday season.”
