Bryn Clark has been promoted to senior editor at Flatiron Books.

At Simon & Schuster, Emily Graff and Carina Guiterman have each been promoted to senior editor. Emily Simonson has been promoted to associate editor and Lashanda Anakwah assistant editor. Elizabeth Gay has been promoted to assistant director of publicity, and Kirstin Berndt to senior publicist.

At Harper Children’s Harper group, Maria Barbo has been promoted to executive editor; Stephanie Stein to senior editor; Elizabeth Lynch to editor; Megan Ilnitzki to editor; and Louisa Currigan and Clare Vaughn both to assistant editor. At others imprints, Courtney Stevenson moves up to associate editor, Quill Tree Books; Tiara Kittrell to associate editor, Balzer + Bray; and Caitlin Johnson to assistant editor.

Elsewhere at Harper Children’s, Anais Villa will join as senior marketing associate on October 12. She was previously project coordinator at SoHo Publishing. Spencer Alben has been promoted to associate director, video; Shae McDaniel, Seoling Dee, and Kadeen Griffiths to marketing associate; Shannon Cox to marketing coordinator;

Rebecca Raskin has been promoted to associate editor at Harper Wave and Harper Business.

Rachael Small has joined Astra House as director of publicity. She was previously director of publicity at Europa Editions.

Allison Carter was promoted to publicity director for Thomas Nelson’s W Publishing division.

Patrick Crotty has been promoted from to senior designer at Random House Graphic.

Jennifer Stokes has joined Owlkids Books as editorial director. She was previously senior editor at Kids Can Press.

Bill Bryson told Times Radio that he has retired from writing: “For the first time in literally decades I’ve been reading for pleasure and I’m really enjoying it. Whatever time is left to me on this planet I’d like to spend it indulging myself, rather than going out and trying to cover new territory.”

Election Day
Oxford University Press will be closed for election day, adding it their standing list of observed holidays. Additionally, the company notes, they will observe Juneteenth as a holiday starting in 2021.
