Brian Napack, president and ceo of John Wiley, has been reelected chairman of the board of the AAP. Hachette Book Group ceo Michael Pietsch has been elected vice chairman. Jeremy North, managing director for books publishing at Taylor & Francis, was reelected treasurer.
ABA board vice president Bradley Graham is due to take over as president, succeeding Jamie Fiocco, whose two-year term ends this year. Kelly Estep and Christine Onorati are in line to serve as co-vice president/secretary. Chris Morrow will step down from the board for personal reasons and Michelle Malonzo at Changing Hands in Tempe, ZA will replace him on the board for the remainder of the term. Additionally, the board nominated Danny Caine at Raven Book Store in Lawrence, KS to join the board, with four current members to stand for re-election to three-year terms.

The hardcover edition of Amanda Gorman‘s inaugural poem THE HILL WE CLIMB has been moved up more than a month, to March 16 publication. Viking Children’s now plans a 1 million copy first printing, and the book will include a foreword by Oprah Winfrey.
Her publishers now plan 1 million first copy printings of her poetry collection and her children’s picture this fall as well. But first, Gorman will read an original poem at the Super Bowl in February, celebrating the game’s three honorary captains: an educator, a nurse manager and a Marine Corps. veteran.
Michael Lewis‘s THE PREMONITION: A Pandemic Story will be published May 4 by Norton (and by Allen Lane in the UK). It follows three central characters — a biochemist, a public health worker and a federal government employee who worked in the White House — as they confront the pandemic and find that the response from the United States government is woefully inadequate.
Seth Rogen’s first book, YEARBOOK will be published by Random House on May 11. His mother says, “It’s not really a memoir, like I thought it might be. I guess it’s more of a bunch of funny stories? Does that make sense?”

Canada’s Writers’ Trust prize for fiction has been renamed the Atwood Gibson Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize. Writers Margaret Atwood and Graeme Gibson were among the co-founders of the prize of the trust in 1976.

Hachette UK is launching a monthly Feminist Book Box, starting in March. It includes two paperbacks a month, presenting “the best in feminist writing and storytelling” from across the company, for £20 a month.
