Diane Mangan has joined Andrews McMeel as children’s marketing director, based in Chicago and reporting to vice president, publishing sales Lynne McAdoo. Most recently she led the team at Follett that curated school book fairs.
Emily Nemens is stepping down as editor of The Paris Review, three years after taking the position. She wrote in a letter to readers, “I am leaving The Paris Review to write my next book. Hopefully, eventually, I’ll edit again—connecting writers to readers is among the world’s best professions.” Nemens succeeded Lorin Stein, who resigned in 2017 amid sexual harassment allegations. Online editor Nadja Spiegelman also announced her departure recently, to launch literary magazine Astra Quarterly at Astra Publishing House.
John Baker, 72, author of Zondervan’s Celebrate Recovery books, died on February 23.
