Jamie Lockard will take over as vice president and publisher at Harper Leadership on May 17, succeeding Jeff James, who is leaving “to explore startup business opportunities and finish his Ph.D. in organizational leadership.” Lockard has been vice president of marketing at Nelson Books.
Maya Millett will join Dial Press as senior editor, reporting to Whitney Frick, vp editorial director. She previously founded MDash Productions, an independent book editing, collaborative writing, and audio storytelling consultancy. Michael Hoak has joined Random House as senior marketing manager, reporting to Barbara Fillon, vp director of marketing. He previously lead the online marketing department at Yale University Press.
Julia Walchuk has been promoted to publishing sales manager at VIZ Media.
At VitalSource, Nancy Stosik has been promoted to head of the Enterprise team; Shanna Daniel to director, customer success for the Publisher Customer Success team; and Kendall Koliopoulos to manager, customer success for the Partner Team.

Ai Weiwei‘s memoir 1000 Years of Joys and Sorrows, with a cover of his own design, and translated by Allan H. Barr, will be published by Crown on November 2. They acquired the book in 2015, originally hoping for a 2017 publication.
