Bertelsmann   

The ascent of Mohn family members to the highest levels of Bertelsmann management continues, with the announcement that Carsten Coesfeld will join the company’s supervisory board in January. On the board, which is expanding from three members to four, Coesfeld will be responsible for the new investments and financial solutions department. (The chair of the board and Bertelsmann ceo Thomas Rabe’s current term runs until 2026.) Coesfeld has been ceo of Bertelsmann Investments since June 2022. Earlier this year, the younger brother Thomas Coesfeld became ceo of the BMG music division ahead of schedule, and he joined the group management committee.

Penguin Random House US   

President of sales and marketing Jaci Updike is promoted to Chief Revenue Officer. She “will continue to oversee all aspects of our Sales and Consumer Marketing operations and continue to collaborate with her partners across other Penguin Random House businesses.”

SVP, director, online & digital sales Jeff Weber is promoted to Deputy Chief Revenue Officer. The consumer marketing team under Erica Curtis will now report to Weber as part of his expanded responsibility.

Michael Rotondo, is promoted from vp to svp of online & digital sales.

Scholastic   

Shifa Kapadwala has been promoted to senior manager, global brand publicity.

Kelsey Albertson has been promoted to manager, special market sales.

Anna Bloom has been promoted to trade, executive editor.

ILP   

International Literary Properties has acquired rights to the estate of Somerset Maugham.

Aevitas Creative Management UK   

Charlie Brotherstone joins as vp and senior agent. Most recently, he ran Brotherstone Creative Management.
