Longtime director John Donatich will retire at the end of June 2025.

“John has served with distinction for over twenty years, and he will be greatly missed,” Yale University president Peter Salovey said. “Since arriving at the Press in 2003, John has expanded its award-winning trade list, transformed its scholarly publishing programs, and forged numerous new publishing and distribution partnerships.”

Kristen Pettit has joined as editorial director, overseeing the development and editorial process of entertainment properties across genres and age levels, from middle grade to adult. Most recently she was executive editor at Harper Children’s.
