Jeff Smith Cancels Book Tour

Jeff Smith, creator of the Bone comics series, canceled the remaining dates of his book tour to promote his new book TUKI after experiencing cardiac arrest on August 13. In a post on their website, publisher Cartoon Books wrote, “There will be a long road to recovery, so regrettably we must cancel the remainder of his book tour this year. Obituary: Christopher Carduff

Wall Street Journal books editor Christopher Carduff, 66, died on Monday evening following a recent illness. He worked in editorial at Houghton Mifflin, Counterpoint Press, David R. Godine, and the New Criterion, and was a contributing editor at Library of America from 2006 to 2017, where he was the estate-appointed editor of posthumous works by Penelope Fitzgerald, William Maxwell, John Updike, and others. In 2017 he joined the WSJ as books editor.
