Booker Prize May Allow American Entries In Wednesday Announcement
The Booker Prize is set to announce several rule changes on Wednesday, and now one expected adjustment includes opening the Commonwealth-only prize up to entries from US authors in some form. Former Farrar, Straus editor Courtney Hodell will take over as director of the Whiting Writers’ Awards, and Daniel Reid will serve as the foundation’s new executive director, as of November 1. Currently director of strategic planning at the CUNY Institute for Education Policy, Reid takes over from Kellye Rosenheim, who has worked for the Whiting Foundation since 1990.
