The Frankfurt Book Festival continued on Thursday, seeming like business as usual after years of change. Attendees said that the crowds seemed back up to pre-pandemic levels, and security was back down after being heightened last year in the wake of the Oct. 7 attacks. Authors Guild to Promote Created by Humans

The Authors Guild and start-up AI rights licensing platform Created by Humans announced a partnership in which the Guild will promote the new service and “help us make decisions about how to best serve the author community through our platform.” AG ceo Mary Rasenberger will serve on Created by Humans’ advisory board, and the two organizations will “develop informational materials and webinars that clearly explain the terms of licenses and the fees” to authors. ProRata AI is another new player in the market to provide content creators and owners credit and compensation for the use of their work in AI chatbots. The company tells Axios they have raised $25 million in Series A financing, and their launch has the support of The Atlantic, Financial Times, Fortune, and Axel Springer. CCC Announces Collective Solution for Internal AI Licenses

Copyright Clearance Center has officially announced their first long-in-development licensing program for AI re-use rights. This first step lets participating publishers include these rights in CCC’s annual copyright licenses (ACL), their enterprise content licensing program that businesses subscribe to. The license allows for non-exclusive, annually renewable rights to use content within AI systems for internal use.
