UK children’s publisher Nosy Crow will launch a US company, with books first publishing in May 2023. Nosy Crow Inc. will publish books for ages 0-12, including board books and middle grade nonfiction, and will be distributed by Hachette Book Group. Loyola Press is launching 4U2B Books & Media, a new imprint “to help children, parents, educators, and lifelong learners thrive with a sense of place and purpose.” In addition to children’s books, they will publish select titles for adults. First titles include two children’s books by Mark K. Shriver, which will be released in September 2022 and 2023, respectively. President and publisher Joellyn Cicciarelli said, “With 4U2B Books & Media, we’re looking to entertain, educate, and nurture families by helping children develop self-awareness, social-emotional skills, responsible decision-making, and thriving relationships.”

Tom Doherty Associates Rebrands As Tor
Tom Doherty Associates has rebranded itself Tor Publishing Group, effective immediately. President and publisher Devi Pillai said in the announcement: “Although the Tor name has always been associated with science fiction and fantasy, our list has included titles beyond that genre since our inception. With this name change and continued growth, the Tor name will now stand for quality in various types of genre publishing, with each imprint representing a distinct voice.”

Toronto writer Rebecca Eckler is launching RE:books, a new imprint focused on female voices across all genres that aims to make reading “less snobby.” Eckler has a newsletter of the same name with 35,000 subscribers. Dialogue Books to Become Separate Division At Hachette UK
Dialogue Books, which is currently an imprint of Little, Brown UK, will expand and break out as standalone division at Hachette UK. Publisher and founder Sharmaine Lovegrove will lead the expansion. She has been promoted to managing director, and will join the company’s board, both effective when she returns from maternity leave on September 1. The unit aims to publish 80 books a year by 2026, a significant increase.
