Robert Allen, vp, associate publisher at Macmillan Audio, will retire on January 1, 2026.
Mary Beth Roche, president, publisher, Macmillan Audio, writes: “Robert’s career has been rich and varied, from his early days at Baker & Taylor after earning his Master’s in Library Science, through his many adventures on the Bantam Doubleday Dell sales team, to his pivotal role as Marketing Director on the inaugural staff of Broadway Books. Finally, he embarked on his exhilarating sixteen-year journey at Macmillan Audio, highlighted by his successful negotiations for the Dune books by Frank Herbert as well as works by Marilynne Robinson and James Herriot among many others, and all while building an exceptional editorial team. Through it all, Robert has been a steady and trusted hand — admired and appreciated by authors, agents, colleagues, and even competitors alike.”
