Majority owner Danny Caine is selling control of the store to three employees — Kelly Barth, Chris Luxem and Mary Wahlmeier Bracciano — in a seller-financed deal. At the beginning of 2022, Caine had sold just under half of the company to a group of seven employees.

Caine is also stepping down from the board of the ABA immediately, and is relocating back to Cleveland, to work as multimedia content creator for Institute of Local Self-Reliance.

Katie Monaghan has been promoted to vice president, senior director of publicity, senior director of publicity and marketing for Stephen King.

Kassandra Engel has been promoted to publicity manager.

Amy Vinchesi has joined as managing editor. Vinchesi was previously worked as a freelance copyeditor and proofreader.

Chris Ryall has joined as editor at large, Abrams ComicArts. Ryall is a longtime comics writer/editor and the former editor-in-chief/chief creative officer at IDW Publishing.

Justin Lee has joined as systems support technician.

Kristin McLaughlin is promoted to assistant director of digital marketing.

Kait Johnson is promoted to social media manager.

Andi Paris is promoted to digital marketing manager.

Diana Pho has been promoted to editorial director.

Viengsamai Fetters has been promoted to associate editor.

Brian McLendon has joined as vp, marketing and publisher of the VeloPress Books imprint, reporting to CEO Keith Riegert. Previously, McLendon was vp, associate publisher and marketing director at Grand Central.

Publishing director for Nine Eight Pete Selby, executive editor for John Blake Toby Buchan, and publishing director for Black & White Sam Humphreys will leave the company in a restructuring.
