Penguin Random House UK

The Bookseller reports that PRH UK has proposed eliminating 38 roles (1.84 percent of staff) across multiple divisions and departments. The publisher has not said which will be affected. Decisions about layoffs will be made by division leaders. CEO Tom Weldon said that “there is no one single factor driving these decisions, but they include a need to align to our strategy for future growth; removing roles where work has diminished; stopping certain activities where the value is unclear; or restructuring to work smarter.”

CEO Tom Weldon said in an email to staff, “While our revenues have grown over the past five years, the business faces a longer-term challenge around growing our profits in the face of increasing cost pressures.” He continued, “Global geopolitical and macroeconomic factors have created volatility and uncertainty for all economies and businesses, which have escalated over the past few years.”

Kevin Anderson & Associates

Adam Strange has joined as executive editor in the UK office. Most recently, he led the literary arm of talent management agency Gleam Futures.

Harper Collins

Adam Silverman has been promoted to vice president of digital business development.

Britney's Memoir

The NYT investigated the collaborators behind Britney Spears’s memoir The Woman in Me, which published October 24, writing that they include Sam Lansky, Ada Calhoun, and Luke Dempsey. Two people close to the project told the Times that each writer made “significant contributions” to the book.
