Lapham’s Quarterly
The staff of the magazine announced that they have been furloughed indefinitely, as the magazine was put on hiatus in October. “We do not know whether the Quarterly has a future,” they write.
In November, Lapham’s announced that the American Agora Foundation, which publishes the magazine, put the next issue on hold temporarily. “The hiatus will allow us to consider all options that will not only let print publication resume in 2024 but enable us to thrive in a climate that is increasingly inhospitable to print magazines focused on history, literature, and ideas—all of which we feel have never been more important.”
