Founder and publisher of Dialogue Books Sharmaine Lovegrove is leaving that position, to serve in a new part-time role as cultural strategist for parent company Hachette UK. She will serve as publisher at large of Dialogue, working from Berlin, and she will continue to work on diversity and inclusion program Changing the Story. In 2022, Hachette UK expanded Dialogue from an imprint of Little Brown UK to a full division, aiming to publish 80 books a year by 2026.
Lovegrove will work alongside Carrie Bloxson, svp of culture and diversity, equity and inclusion at Hachette Book Group and Hachette UK. She told The Bookseller, “I am excited to return to my publishing entrepreneur roots in Berlin and create new businesses that focus on readers and authors, while also continuing to work closely with Carrie Bloxson and David Shelley [chief executive officer of Hachette Book Group and Hachette UK] on driving and integrating cultural transformation at Hachette UK.”
