President and publisher of Simon & Schuster Canada Kevin Hanson is leaving the company, after almost two decades.

S&S president and ceo Jonathon Karp writes in a memo to staff, “Kevin first joined Simon & Schuster in 2005. Under his direction, Simon & Schuster Canada built the brands and sales of many of our authors in Canada, as well as those of our distribution clients, forged close relationships with our retail partners and pursued new sales channels, helping Simon & Schuster to become a vital presence in the Canadian marketplace.”

He continues, “I will communicate with you about a successor to Kevin as soon as I have news to share.”

Helen O’Hare has been promoted to executive editor, Little, Brown and Mulholland.

Charlotte Morrison has been promoted to senior advertising manager, Little, Brown.

Alyssa Persons has been promoted to assistant director of publicity, Little, Brown and Mulholland.

Thea Diklich-Newell has been promoted to editor, Voracious and adding titles to the Spark list.

Karina Leon has been promoted to assistant editor, Little, Brown.

Morgan Wu has been promoted to assistant editor, Little, Brown.

Emily Williams has been promoted to assistant editor, Little, Brown/James Patterson.

Kirin Diemont has been promoted to senior designer, Little, Brown.

Sandra Moore has transferred from Celadon Books to the reprints production team as production associate.

Laura Crockett has been promoted to senior literary agent and foreign rights manager.
