Emilia Rhodes joins as executive editor, reporting to Lindsay Sagnette. Most recently, Rhodes was at HarperCollins.

Celadon Books   

Liza Buell has been promoted to publicist.

Oxford University Press   

Strategy and transformation coordinator and union unit chair Scott Morales was laid off on April 16. In a press release, the OUP Guild says that the company must bargain any changes to working conditions with the union, including layoffs, and that the elimination is “an illegal and retaliatory act.” The union is currently filing an unfair labor practice claim with the National Labor Relations Board.

Arcadia Publishing   

Kate Jenkins has been promoted to publishing director for Arcadia and The History Press.

Banks Smither will transition to become publisher at Applewood in May.

David Mandel will expand his role as managing editor for Arcadia, Pelican and Arcadia Children’s. He will continue his leadership position in the Arcadia imprint production department, as well as adding managing editorial responsibilities for the Pelican and ACB imprints.

Caitrin Cunningham becomes managing editor for Applewood and Belt Publishing imprints.

Chuck Deane has been promoted to field sales manager.

Aline Matushev has been promoted to national sales manager.

Sophie Kinsella   

The author, 54, announced on social media that she has been battling glioblastoma since the end of 2022. “At the moment all is stable and I am feeling generally very well, though I get very tired and my memory is even worse than it was before!”
