Lagardere   

Jean-Christophe Thiery has been appointed chairman and CEO of Lagardere on a “provisional” basis, and is expected to be named chairman and CEO of the Hachette Livre subsidiary shortly as well. Thiery has been, and remains, chair of the supervisory board of Canal+ (which is owned by Lagardere’s current owner, Vivendi).

Thiery takes the place of Arnaud Lagardere, who was required to resign his positions following his criminal indictment.

Shelley Husband is promoted to executive vice president, government affairs.

Lui Simpson is promoted to executive vice president, global policy.

In their new positions, they will assist ceo Maria Pallante to set priorities, assess risks, and provide executive direction.

Lynne Ciccaglione is now executive editor.

Inkyard Press   

Olivia Valcarce has left her position as editor and is starting a freelance editorial business, specializing in middle grade and young adult fiction.

Booksellers Association (UK)   

Sevenoaks Bookshop owner Fleur Sinclair has been named president, succeeding Hazel Broadfoot. Lighthouse bookshop owner Mairi Oliver becomes vice president, along with Debbie James.
