Erica Eatmon has joined in the new role of senior vice president of data and decision intelligence. According to a memo from ceo Greg Greeley, she will “lead the transformation of how information, insights, and technology are integrated into our day-to-day operations, helping us build a more connected, agile, and data-driven enterprise.” He notes, “This newly created role reflects our commitment to strengthening how we use data and analytics across our company so we can make faster and more informed decisions.”

Eatmon was chief data officer at Thrasio. Prior to that, she was at McGraw Hill Education for over a decade, where she helped lead the company’s transformation from print to digital learning. 

Separately, senior editor at the flagship imprint Yahdon Israel will transition out of his role at S&S. His last day will be June 4. Israel will launch two endeavors: The School of Cultural Stewardship, “an educational project dedicated to teaching writers, readers, artists, and cultural workers how to understand audience as part of a larger practice of meaning-making and stewardship;” and The Compound Collective, “a cultural strategy and author development agency that works with authors, cultural figures, institutions, publishers, and literary organizations to create the conditions for books and ideas to live more fully in public.”

Book Industry Study Group   

Allison Belan will join as executive director, succeeding Brian O’Leary, who will retire on June 30, after a decade of leading the organization. Belan has been director, strategic innovation and services at Duke University Press, where she was has worked for over 20 years.

Helm Literary   

Nour Sallam joins as a literary agent. She was previously at The Caldwell Agency.
