Starting June 1, deputy general counsel Chris Lick will take over the role of executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary, reporting to ceo Peter Warwick. Lick succeeds Andrew Hedden, who will retire and become senior counselor after 17 years in the position. Lick joined Scholastic in 2008.

Julie Christopher joins in the newly created position of head of brand strategy. She was most recently SVP, global marketing at The Lumistella Company.

John Glynn has been promoted to editorial director.

Rebecca Brewer has joined as senior editor. She was most recently a freelance editorial consultant.

Pippa White has joined as acquisitions editor, acquiring women’s fiction and book club fiction.

Emily Settle has been promoted to senior editor.
