Penguin Publishing Group   

Christine Ball is promoted to EVP, publisher, Berkley, no longer handling Dutton. She will lead editorial, marketing and publicity for the imprint. SVP, editor in chief Claire Zion will now report to her.

John Parsley is promoted to VP, publisher, Dutton, reporting to president Ivan Held. He will manage editorial, marketing, and publicity for the imprint.

Simon & Schuster   

VP and executive director of corporate marketing Sue Fleming will retire on August 15. She first worked at the company in 1980, and has been there since a variety of jobs since 1991 in publicity, marketing, and digital outreach.

Little, Brown Spark   

Cara Bedick joined as executive editor, reporting to vp, publisher Michael Szczerban.

Kensington   

James Abbate has been promoted to editor.

Sarah Stanton has been promoted to editorial director.

Sahar Al-Nima has been promoted to assistant editor.

University of North Carolina Press   

Dawn Durante has been named the Wyndham Robertson editorial director of the press.

Tess Callero has been promoted to senior agent and Leah Petrakis has been promoted to agent.

As of June 7, Sandy Hodgman Literary will handle foreign rights for the agency.

Bonnier Books UK   

Managing director of Black & White Publishing Group Tim Whiting will leave the company in the fall to start an executive coaching business.

CEO Perminder Mann said they will consolidate the adult groups into a single trade division. “Considering the current market conditions we are facing, the logical next step for us is to integrate the two adult divisions.” Sarah Benton will run the new adult trade division as managing director for adult trade.

Spencerhill Associates   

Bethany Hendrix and Heather Osborn have joined as agents.

Simon & Schuster Canada   

Dan French has joined as vice president, marketing and communications, reporting to president and publisher Nicole Winstanley. He was previously at Penguin Random House Canada.
