New York Times Book Review   

Jennifer Harlan will join as a senior staff editor, focusing on service journalism about “what to read next.” She will “expand some of our already existing service efforts while also launching new story formats and series across our many platforms.” She was previously at the Projects and Initiatives desk at the Times.

Preview editor Elisabeth Egan will transition to primarily writing narrative features.

Hachette Book Group   

Jan Rosenberg joins as metadata & merchandising associate.

Soho Press   

Lily Detaeye has been promoted to associate publicist.

Choose Your Own Adventure   

Lizzi Middleman has returned to Choose Your Own Adventure as marketing director. Middleman started her career in publishing at Chooseco over a decade ago and has since worked at Hachette Book Group.

Simon & Schuster Canada   

Michael Guy-Haddock will join as vice president of sales. He was previously at Harper Collins Canada.

Poets & Writers   

Jared Jackson has joined Poets & Writers as director of programs and partnerships. He was previously program director, literary programs and emerging voices at PEN America.

Short Books   

Jo Morrell joins as publisher of the Octopus Publishing Group imprint, ahead of the retirement of Kyle Books and Short Books publisher Joanna Copestick at the end of 2025. Morrell was chief publishing officer and managing editor at the Telegraph most recently.

Copestick will focus on acquiring and publishing illustrated titles for Kyle Books.
