Wiley   

Matthew Kissner has been named president and ceo, after holding those positions on an interim basis since October 2023.

Board chair Jesse Wiley said in the announcement: “Over the past nine months, Matt has made great progress improving our organization, accelerating our value creation plans, driving strong momentum in our core, and rallying around new AI opportunities.” He added: “After a formal process that included a global search, the board has concluded that Matt is the right person to lead Wiley through the next phase of our journey as a knowledge solutions company. We look forward to working alongside him to continue our momentum and deliver significant value for our stakeholders, including shareholders, customers, and colleagues.”

Little, Brown   

Bryn Clark will join as executive editor starting September 3. She was previously executive Editor at Flatiron Books.

Pamela Dorman Books   

Jeramie Orton has been promoted to executive editor.

Marie Michels has been promoted to editor.

Abrams ComicArts   

Nicole Valdez has joined as director of marketing. Valdez was previously senior manager of publicity at Simon & Schuster.

Storey Publishing   

VP & publisher Deborah Balmuth will retire as of September 27. Balmuth began her career at Storey in 1993 as an editor and has served as publisher since 2013.

EVP and Workman publisher  Susan Weinberg said, “We have all been inspired by seeing Storey grow and thrive under Deborah’s leadership. She has embodied a unique approach to bookmaking that has served Storey’s readers well.”

She will be succeeded by associate publisher Margaret Lennon.

 

Holiday House   

Sally Morgridge has been promoted to executive editor.

Creative Media Agency   

Vicky Weber has joined as associate literary agent. She was formerly at The Purcell Agency.
