Cristina Cushing has joined in the new role of director of sales strategy, where she will “lead overall sales strategy while overseeing the mass and special market channels. She’ll partner with publishing, marketing, and retail teams to build new pathways that get books to more readers, creating growth opportunities for authors, retailers, and readers alike.” Cushing was previously at Macmillan.

Emily Malter has been promoted to sales manager, ecommerce and digital merchandising.

Bookshop.org

The bookselling website says its mid-year profit pool distributed $1.89 million to independent bookstores in the US — or just over $744 a store, across 2,471 participating stores.

Bookshop.org remains on track with their growth projections from earlier in the year, up 65 percent year over year. That has them on track for total sales of $70 million to $75 million in 2025 if the current pattern continues.
